FODMAP are mainly carbohydrate rich foods that are osmotic. If you refresh yourself with your chemistry, osmosis is a process by which water is pulled from a low gradient to a higher gradient. Basically, FODMAPs can pull water into the intestinal tract. These food are not easily absorbed or digested well and when eaten in excess can be acted upon by bacteria through fermentation. People who are sensitive to FODMAP can experience cramping, bloating, gas, constipation or diarrhea. That’s why a LOW FODMAP diet is being promoted in order to avoid experiencing these symptoms. I learned this and more from this wonderful book. I found that books available about FODMAP diet are too few. Good thing I stumbled upon this book as it gives full description of the diet and how it works helping to avoid the effects of the FODMAP if you are sensitive to it. It also provides some delicious Low FODMAP diet recipes as well.

It has great recipes like the Ham and Spinach Fritatta. Never heard of it, but after reading this book I can now make it! And it does taste delicious!Maybe you never heard of a low FODMAP diet, neighter did I before I read this book. But this book got some great value about the topic. Thanks Naomi Rowland!

By paul I read a lot of diet and healthy eating books, but this is one of my favourites. I find the subject of the FODMAP diet very confusing but the author set it out and explained it very clearly.
