Plumer comes to the writing of popular books with a solid background. He has advanced degrees in writing and in addition to using that training to write for literary magazines, and books DEADLY SHORT STORIES, MAD ABOUT UNDEAD YOU: A ZOMBIE APOCALYSE LOVE STORY (for which he won awards), ZOMBIE EVER AFTER, SHADOWS OF DEATH, he also taught writing, worked at a printing press, delivered newspapers, managed a bookstore - always keeping the world of words around him. Now he comes to us with DEMON DAYS and to those unfamiliar with Plumer's writing skills, be prepared for an outing you won't soon forget.As is indicated by the titles of the works he has written, Plumer is a purveyor of tales of the undead, works of science fiction and horror. Bu the also has a gift for inventing credible characters who by chance (or by golly!) get pulled into unfathomably deep mysteries - and what is even more unusual in books of this genre, the manner in which he introduces the `dark' is offered as openers, setting a fine mood for what is to come.After meeting Zachary and Mallory in chapter one (with some significant hints at what is to happen in this very advanced and strange year of 2035 (not that far away dear reader) we encounter the flavor that pervades this story: `And for his failures, he blamed one man and one man only: Zachary Zemeritus. The usual junk skipped by here and there as Martin Beemer walked along, deep inside his own thoughts. Bits of newspapers and flyers and fast food wrappers and plastic bags. The kind of crap that littered the sidewalk and the streets. Defective self-refilling fast-food cups, with soda and straws still in them. Dog s**t. Condoms. Discarded e-cigarettes. A broken heel from a cut-rate high-heeled e-shoe, the GPS receiver still intact. When Martin Beemer reached his door, he expected to enter and trudge his way to his third floor apartment. He did not expect to be lifted by his collar and deposited on the roof of his building by Satan. "M-my, my God!" said Martin Beemer, his lip trembling, his nose running. The Satan thing mocked him. "Close, but no cigar" "Are you--?" "The Dark Lord? No." The demon spoke in a voice that was part lion, part storm, part AutoTune 6 . "I am nothing like him. Nor am I like those other creatures from the craven bowels of Hell. My people do not come form the center of your earth. We come from the center of this imploding little universe. From the fiery pit that started this whole mess. You know when your God said, `Let there be light'? That was when my people were born. We were in the light, the thousands of millions of tons of burning hellfire that started everything. But enough about me--" "Wha-what do you want?" The gruesome thing gave a mongoose howl, a wolverine in heat, clapping its four hands together. It had three arms, but one of the arms had an extra hand. The thing spoke again in its electro-beast voice, the echo of the laugh hanging in the air...."Where is this earthling, Zachary Zemeritus?'The plot line is summarized by the author: `What could be better than a party out with your friends in New York City? 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Brilliant. By Jay Mittener Plumer masterfully takes us to 2035 and shows us a world of his creation where aliens and demons are common place. There are robots, kidnappings, mayhem, and pretty much all the things that we worry about in our wandering fantasy minds. Plumer is an excellent story teller and even more talented writer. This book lasted less than a day with me as I sped through each page loving it more.The premise of the book is an excellent one. A huge group of friends going out to party in NYC and get way more than the bargained for or could even imagine. The book is excellent with a futuristic feel while explore the bonds of love, friendship, community, and exactly how far we will go to have fun.For those of us who love to read a new world and become absorbed in a possible reality this is an excellent read. Lovers of science fiction, romance, and alternate realities will love this as I did.

Mallory, Pistachio and Helena are the crew, Zach is Mallory's new beau and things are going well until people start to disappear.A being that looks like the preverbal description of Satan appears toMartin Beemer but he soon lets Martin know he is from another planet. They are kidnapping earths citizens but why? This is the part where I tell you that to find out you just have to read it for yourself. I found the entire premise intriguing and I am certain you will be entertained.
