It is a hilarious look at Southern living at its best!This little short story brought back so many memories. I enjoyed it so much.If you didn't grow up Southern, Decoration Day is a great way to see what it was like. And if you did grow up in the South, it will bring back wonderful memories.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A Delightful Southern Story By Linda "Decoration Day" is a humorous look at the Southern tradition of Decoration Day in the 50's. The author tells the story through the viewpoint of a girl, Melanie Sue, who is a charming character who learns the meaning of true friendship during the story. I loved the grandparents in the story as well as the girls. And the dialogue is so true to the South. I was laughing all the way through it. Especially when Mamaw Haddock takes matters into her own hands. Definitely recommend this story for a quick, uplifting read.
