Need working examples for Xcode 6.2 Swift 1.2 By RG The book has potential to be an excellent learning tool but the example code does not work in the current versions of Xcode and iOS. Also there does not seem to be any way to contact the authors to see if they are working on a fix. So instead of learning about core data in chapter 3 one learns about bugs in the code caused most likely to changes to Swift and Xcode. Hopefully the authors will get the code updated soon as the book is not useful in its current state.

The Chapters 3 thru 7 (a whopping 175 page stretch) on Core Data run on and on and on... And the project "SuperDB" builds and builds upon itself getting ever more complicated. It's difficult at best to make it (the code) work as depicted and at the same time gain a high and low level understanding of the material and how it all plugs together. It would have been better if these chapters on Core Data were broken down in little more. (architecture, validation, defaults...). Just when you get code written, a few pages later it changes because the functionality changes. It's very disorienting. Still, I recommend the book. Partly because it's the only thing out there at the moment for the "intermediate" Swift Core Data (and some other stuff).

My biggest gripe is how often the authors slow down to explain concepts that are certain perquisites for a book titled "More iPhone Development." This is clearly a book for people who know how to use Xcode and the iOS SDK. Every page early on in the book has a paragraph dedicated to teaching something ridiculously simple like what a segue is, how to save a new project, what the keyboard shortcut is to create a new class."Your application’s root view controller is now a stock UINavigationController. You didn’t need to write any code for it; you just dropped a navigation controller object into your storyboard."No kidding. At this pace, the book will have about 120 pages of new content and 360 pages of repeating things you already know. After 100 pages, I don't think there is a single piece of information that wasn't covered in the last book.
