But since I've been with my boyfriend (over 3 years) I've had these few extra pounds that have kept me from wearing my favorite white linen sundress. Grrrrr... The problem is, I love to cook, and I love WHAT I cook. Even though it's healthy, I go back for 'just a little more.'What I absolutely love about this book is it's not about how to lose weight so much (we all know that part of the equation) but how to motivate ourselves. Yes, it does go into all the aspects of what it takes to lose weight, but focuses on how to make it happen, from the inside...you know, that voice that either gets us up and at-em, or helps us rationalize that we can skip walking, or working out today.My excuse is that I need to keep writing, but look where it's gotten me. I've only just read this book and I can feel that change inside of me. You know when there's that shift, like all your cells have lined up and said, "Yes, we're in this with you." I'm going to put this book as my browsers home page and read a little each day to 'keep me motivated.'Darrin Wiggins, I love this book, love your straight arrow way of telling it like it is, and the supportive way you inspire, rather than beating me up. I'm going to share this with my newsletter list and put a link on my website. You're the best I've come across, and I can say that about all of your books I've read so far. Plus, the way you write makes all your books fun to read.A little P.S. If you switch the word 'weightloss' with any other goal, this book will help. Great motivators for maintaining your weight loss and health goals By Skeggs50 As I have written about in other reviews, I'm not a dieter but I do try to take care of myself. One of the issues I have is just staying motivated to maintain by diet choices and gym regimen. This book contains a number of really good motivators for overcoming the excuses we all tell ourselves. Excuses like lack of time, money or motivation, eating too much or exercise programs stink. Yep, they're all covered. You'll also find a chapter on validation and seeking internal motivation rather than external motivation that will help you re-evaluate why you are trying to lose weight. All this an how to determine if you are willing to make all the real sacrifices needed to lose weight.Overall, if you lack the motivation to keep up with a healthy lifestyle and/or diet plan, get this book for some real thought-provoking motivational steps to keep you on track.
