14 of 14 people found the following review helpful. Believing God Wants to Use Little Ol' Me By Trina Cress This book is just the follow-up I needed to others I've read on the world-changer topic. I've been convicted and convinced that our role in this world is to DO something and make a difference. But I'm often left feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start. Deidra's words are such a comfort and encouragement to start right here where I am. Her stories are "small" and relatable while having so much depth and insight. God "calls us to faithfulness in both the miraculous and the mundane" (from chapter 1), and this is a reality she shares throughout the book.One of my favorite quotes comes from the intro and sums it up: "...most of us will change our corner of the world and make an impact that stands the test of time through the small and seemingly insignificant (to us) interactions and decisions and conversations of our average days." I have slowly discovered this to be true in my own life, and I appreciate Deidra leading me further in this journey of believing God wants to use little ol' me to make a difference.I believe He wants to use little ol' you, too, and Deidra's words in this book just might what you need to believe it for yourself and to act on it.

If you've ever felt your life is too small to make a difference, this book will speak sweet truth into your heart. Deidra uses scripture and her own lovely stories to encourage us that there is no action too small that it doesn't matter to God. Every step we take that brings us closer to God--even the small one--is considered beautiful in God's eyes. Do yourself a favor, spend some time in this book and let Deidra's wise, authentic voice lift your heart and invite God close.

I've hesitated to buy a book because I felt like I wasn't ready to hear the message By fp131 At times, I've hesitated to buy a book because I felt like I wasn't ready to hear the message, just yet. Later, when I'm an awesome, improved version of myself-- then I'll be ready to read. If I'm being honest, I don't want to feel guilty or less-than.If you have doubts about whether or not this book is right for you, hear me say: I needed to read this book. Right now, not later. Deidra's words, paragraphs and chapters met me right where I was. This writing of hers is grace like that. It spoke to my inner places where I question: "Does what I'm doing right now really matter?" It spoke to my fears as I wonder: "What if I'm never brave enough?" It spoke to my heart: "You are loved."Most pages ended up with some highlighting or notes. One of my favorite highlighted quotes is: "Faith is when you say yes to God with no courage in sight. Faith leads us to brave."
