About the Author Pooja Jindal Chilukuri resides in the Raleigh-Durham area in North Carolina, USA. She is a certified Nutrition and Health Coach. Prior to this, she served as a researcher, developing state of the art technologies, for the semiconductor industry. Her passion is to make a positive impact on the lives of people by helping them take charge of their health. Her greatest passion, however, is to tell the story of Jesus' love, which she shares in her first book, a memoir entitled, "And Then There Was Jesus." Pooja's hobbies include reading, writing, going for long walks, spending time with friends and family.

A Journey From Religion to Faith By Lily I generally count myself in the agnostic camp, but must share that Ms. Chilukuri's memoir has shifted my perspective. Her well crafted as well as introspective writings, like Pooja herself, bring a gentle reminder of what it means to be human in a spiritual and often mysterious world. I know Pooja, and feel blessed to call her a dear friend. She is living proof that strength and gentleness can coexist easily in one person, and her honest and heartfelt telling of her journey through religion and out the other side to pure faith is deeply moving. This book has introduced me to a new longing. The yearning to find what Pooja has found in her personal relationship with Jesus.

That things can change, that I & others can be transformed by the love of Jesus, and escape the bondage of religion. This book has reminded me not to limit my view of God by getting caught up in legalism...Jesus is the way, not my works, and He surely will never leave me. I agree that it's very true that many Christians equate church with God, & that when they begin to give up on one, they also give up on the other. However, God has so much more for us than just trying to meet these religious standards & trying to please others.I'm thankful that this story is in print. It has spoken to me, & I'm sure that God will use it to affect the lives of others in a very positive way. Yes, there are many in religious bondage, and it is time they be set free!!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Fluent, Sincere, and Touching Story By Sher C. I really enjoyed reading Pooja's testimony and the flow of the book. I thought her writing was extremely clear and the sincerity of her experience really shined through in her writing. It is so easy to fall into the trap of religion, when Christ calls us to first and ultimately to Himself. Her story offers a great look at what abusive spiritual leadership looks like, and articulates the necessity of knowing God's word for one's self. A great read!
