He decides to move his young family out of the city and down to the tiny town of Forest, Virginia, nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, near where Joe went to college. He was young, rich, had a gorgeous wife and four beautiful kids...life couldn't get any better. What Joe didn't realize was that his new neighbors have a problem...one of them thinks Joe is in the mob. Phil Lowery is an old retiree with a passion for eavesdropping and an obsession with mafia movies and TV shows. He see Joe doing what all Italians do, and thinks it's Joe doing what all MOBSTERS do. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. I really enjoyed this book By Jane Himes I really enjoyed this book. The "hero" is a really nice guy and the story of family flows well giving a lot of insight into his background and why he does what he does. When you are reading, there is the feeling that you really know Nick, just like he was a close friend. I enjoyed getting to know his extended family also, especially Nona. I highly recommend this book and sure hope there is at least one sequel.

If I didn't already suffer from insomnia, I'd fuss about losing sleep because I couldn't put it down ;) The story is so true to life, I can totally see it happening for real. Mr Daliessio pulls you right into the scenes with the characters like you are sitting there with them, eating the canollis, having coffee and visiting. Not sure how you can come to love fictional characters like they are your own, but I totally want to be a Mezilli! Do yourself a favor, pick this one up and join "the family"
