Debby Efurd’s fondest memories as a child was spent with her grand¬mother for story time. Fairy tales, fables, stories from her youth . . . they swept Debby away to another world. As one story ended, Debby would beg for more. When she was older, Debby fell in love with Bible stories and was ea¬ger to hear stories in Sunday School about Joseph or David or Moses. Then one day she heard the Greatest Story Ever Told and met and fell in love with the Main Character―Jesus Christ. That made all the difference. Somewhere along Debby’s life journey, though, Debby forgot who was in charge. That’s when life turned upside down. Decades later, after many trials and triumphs, she turned control back to the One who provides hope and transformation. Yes, stories can inspire, motivate, spur you to action . . . like an ar¬row right at your heart. Go Tell It! provides compelling stories of hope and transformation of lives who have each made a “180” by finding and sharing their voices. Whether your personal story revolves around one moment, one ministry, or a multitude of life events, the key is to point to the One who makes your transformation possible. All it takes is a willing heart and the courage to be honest . . . one story at a time.

She also encourages anyone with problems to talk about it and not hide them from God. She include many stories of people struggling who then found healing in their faith.I received the book from the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.

Debby shares her life, the good, the bad and the worst. The things this little one saw, heard and was forced to be a part of. These experiences definitely played a major role in some of the not good choices she would make later on, always looking to fulfill that need to be loved for whom she was.Debby was blessed with awesome grandparents whom were the soft place to fall during the many times of turmoil she would face. She shares right from the heart, deep down things that satan would have us believe would be best kept hidden. And as she shares, there is not only real healing for Debby but also is an encouragement for others to share, and be healed as well. It’s amazing what God can do with the broken pieces of our lives, but we have to give Him all the pieces. There is much to be learned from this book, both for those whom have had and for those trying to be an encouragement or support for them. There is Scripture throughout, quotes from famous people, and a big section in the second part: Surrender It, of personal stories of many whom have faced abortion, and how God saw them through. But it’s more than just that, as if that isn’t enough, but in the last section, Tell It, where we are urged to share our story. Ideas of what and how to share, followed by some great people of faith whom did just that. You must pick up this book and read for yourself. You will be amazed, inspired and ready to go out and share the good news, both in speech and in your actions.Thank you to Debby and to book fun.org for the opportunity to read this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review.

The first is information and first-hand testimony about the lasting effects of abortion and ministries that address those affected by abortion, and attempt to prevent others from choosing to end life. It is a call to action but a plea for understanding of the needs of the many silent sufferers found even in church pews—“the largest women’s group that nobody wants to admit belonging to.” Many personal stories put “faces” on the pain and guilt experienced by so many of our sisters. These stories are powerful and important. They lead to the second level, the one that I will address here—the effects of “putting on a good face”, hiding our pain, WHATEVER IT MAY BE, going through the motions of life and even faith, without receiving the healing that we need.Debby shares her personal journey and the toxic, paralyzing effect of “running away, hiding from God, the world, and myself because I thought my problem was too big for God to handle.” Her conversational writing style is like intimate sharing with a close friend of the ups and downs of the roller coaster of her life. What comes across is a sincere desire to help others avoid the years she suffered until she found the ultimate healing, forgiveness and comfort found only in Jesus Christ. I have never had an abortion, but I can certainly relate to her story of feelings of low self-worth and of trying to be perfect and being always afraid I would do or say the wrong thing. She says, “I grew up feeling insecure and looking for comfort wherever I could find it.” Pain and lostness come from many life situations and hide behind smiling, “happy” faces. She says, “But no matter how far or fast I ran from the truth, God never left me. He kept pursuing me until I fell in a pit so deep that the only direction I could reach was up to my God in heaven.” No matter what our lives hold, isn’t this the story of so many of us? We all have a story to tell of how God “sought us and bought us”, working in our lives before we even knew Him. Debby urges us to share our own story redemption and restoration and let it be used to help even one weary, needy soul find peace and healing love. Someone needs to hear of this miracle freely offered to all of us. Rick Warren is quoted: “Other people are going to find healing in your wounds. Your greatest life messages and your most effective ministry will come out of your deepest hurts.” Let it be.I received this book through The Book Club Network, but the opinions expressed are solely mine.
