About the Author Jennifer Slattery is an inspiring contemporary novelist whose stories of hope, love and grace resonate with real people. It had romance, it had loss but is was so full of raw emotion and written so well that you could vividly see each page play out in front of you.This should be a hallmark movie, it is just that good.I was so happy at the ending, I really hated seeing it come to an end.Tammy and Nick are two characters you are going to love. Nick teaches us to keep fighting for what is right and to never give up.I gave this book 5 stars two times. I HIGHLY recommend this book.I was given a copy of this book by the publisher for my honest review.

Jennifer Slattery writes Christian fiction. Not goodie-two-shoes but real people with real life issues that forge on using faith to guide and offer hope. That is the case with Nick, a divorcee with a kid on life support. Also, Tammy, abandoned with a young pair to raise plus a stress job of coordinating donor organs. One life lost saves one or more others.Tammy & Nick represent both ends of the organ donor gift. It’s not a social friendly topic but Jennifer Slattery takes the issue in hand and creates a poignant book themed on loss-hope-and faith. It jerks readers’ emotions to the limit—but it also has a romantic thread to soften readers’ rigidly-bundled nerves.This is a powerful story of how lives intertwine, sometimes for good, other times negatively. If you are after a cozy love story, this is not it. Slattery writes of love, but sometimes in real life love must survive through dark, less than idyllic paths and human choices.The author’s two protagonists have separate plots, their histories and current events, enough for two books. That makes “Intertwined” a jam-packed page-turner.Without a doubt—a story even more compelling for dads than moms. Both need to read this.Join me and thousands of others—volunteer as a life-saving organ donor via your driver license—only your soul passes to Heaven.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great Novel! By lighthouse88 The story is definitely a heart-tugging, attention-grabbing, emotional rollercoaster kind of novel. The main female character is named Tammy. She finds her marriage falling apart, single-parenting is more than a challenge, her work as an organ procurement coordinator fulfilling and she seeks to speak the gospel message to her clients.Nick is a divorcee who loses his firstborn son in an accident, which is how his and Tammy’s paths cross again. They had not seen each other since high school ten years ago. Nick is dealing with grief and an ex-wife who is keeping their other son away from him as she blames him for the death of their first son.I found the themes of prayer, leaning on the Lord, forgiveness, trust and more very refreshing to see in the tale. The author shows us through other minor characters what unforgiveness, bitterness and other unresolved feelings can do to an individual as well as having a rippling effect on others.Another aspect of the story that brings the aspect of reality to it is that resolving issues and dealing with emotions takes time. The subplot of a father unknown by his son and learning what he was told about his father was not truth caused Nick to go looking to find out what really became of his dad. The book doesn’t tie up all the various threads into nice packages with some threads are left hanging. I think that leaves it to the reader’s imagination as to how situations can possibly be resolved.I highly recommend Jennifer’s novel and consider the many ways we can stand beside a friend, learn from others’ mistakes and as well as our own. Readers will also be shown that finding the fulfillment we seek isn’t in a paycheck, but in sharing Jesus with whomever we meet this side of heaven!
