About the Author
Lori Magoon, MLADC, LCMHC, is a licensed mental health and master’s-level alcohol and drug counselor. A trained hypnotherapist, Magoon is the president and CEO of Self-empowerment-NH, LLC, and former host of a related radio show.
Magoon specializes in offering support and education to families affected by alcoholism and drug dependence. She uses research-based practices to facilitate stronger family units and healthier relationships.
Andy’s story began as a Facebook contest with Magoon’s husband to see who could get more friends. Andy—and his battle against catnip addiction—won the contest handily.

She is devoted to working with people of all ages who have problems with drugs and/or alcohol. Her sympathetic and meaningful relationships with her clients do not end at the hour of 5. She is devoted to her patients, friends and family. She is a modern woman who worked her way through college while raising 3 children on her own. Compassion has no boundary with Ms. Magoon as you will discover while reading her book "Just Ask Andy". I would seriously recommend this book to any parent or grandparent raising children in this troubled world.

By Mike Wayming This book is very helpful in explaining what it feels like to be the person who suffers from addiction! My daughter is addicted to heroin and it has been very difficult to for me understand what she is going through. I now know that I need to get just as much support as she does in order to be a positive support for her.
