Opal Singleton has taken on the difficult, heartbreaking but incredibly crucial job of working to help parents, children, teens and families understand the danger presented by today's almost unlimited access to the internet. If you are like me, you think you have at least a working knowledge of the internet, but I was shocked and appalled at what is happening to millions of children across the world right under their parent's noses, in their homes. Children and teens with access to the internet are being seduced by and bombarded with games, alternate realities and images that would turn your hair gray. And sadly, innocent young people are being duped into believing they are making friends with strangers who mean them no harm when in fact the opposite is true. Sex trafficking of our young people who are especially vulnerable to the attention these predators are skilled at giving them is one of the fastest growing crimes in our country and attention has to be paid to the dangerous cyber worlds our children are becoming addicted to.The book is very well written, easy to read and balanced in its approach. The author realizes that there are many good uses for the internet and that our children have access to important and historical information like never before. Unfortunately there is dark side to the computer skills that today's generation of children seem to have acquired so effortlessly and Singleton stresses that it's up to the parents and grandparents, foster parents and caregivers to fully understand the risks and potential dangers our children have access to when they are free to cruise the internet without knowledgeable parental input. If you have any doubt as to the severity of the situation, then the author's many heartbreaking true stories of children sucked into a world of cyber sex, violence, prostitution and gaming addictions will show you that this is a problem that is widespread and growing every day. If you are in any way responsible for a child or teen that is on the internet daily, then this book is a must read. Thank God there are people out there like Opal Singleton that are working tirelessly to try and educate people as to the dangers that can be found on the internet for our young people and I for one am glad that she took the time to write a book about it so people like me who were blissfully unaware of the scope of the danger can have their eyes opened. Five stars and my heartiest recommendation for Seduced: The Grooming of America's Teenagers.**I was asked to read this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review which I have given. Francisco Well written, informative, eye opening and terrifying all at the same time. Opal has exposed the scary world of sex trafficking right in our own back yards. Also, if you have the chance to hear her speak or to book her in your community, do it!!! You will not be sorry!!!

By Susan Figueroa Opal Singleton is a dedicated advocate in the fight to end child sex trafficking both domestically and abroad. With her vast knowledge of the subject, she has trained and educated thousands in this fight. This book is an empowerment tool for parents and grandparents who need to understand what it means when a child is handed a smart phone. Internet Crimes Against Children says that at any given time there are more than one million predators online. These predators may be seeking to lure your child. I highly recommend this book to enlighten you about how they access, groom, recruit and exploit kids!
